My Methods

Psychotherapy

Therapy is merely a type of conversation, in which you and I strive to create a safe place to look at the problems and conflicts in your life and whatever deeper meanings they may hold. This approach can help to increase your ability to cope with stressful situations, to experience life more fully, to enhance your relationships, to heal past hurts, and to find new direction.

Psychoanalysis

Psychoanalysis is an intensive form of therapy that involves multiple meetings per week. The underlying idea is that people are often motivated by emotions and assumptions of which they may not even be aware. These unconscious parts of us can cause distress, maladaptive personality traits, worry, depression, relationship problems, low self-esteem and many other kids of difficulties. The psychoanalytic process tries to help us see how these unconscious parts of ourselves affect our relationships and behavior patterns, in order to more effectively deal with and enjoy life.

Pharmacotherapy

When necessary, I prescribe medications to help you with symptoms such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, and lack of concentration. I typically use medications to complement therapy; the combination can help you get to the root meaning of your problems.
